Integrating Hulk Advanced Wishlist with Klaviyo

Modified on Thu, 9 Jul at 8:20 PM

Integrating your wishlist with Klaviyo allows you to automate highly targeted email strategies based on real-time shopping intent. By syncing wishlist activity data to Klaviyo, you can trigger personalized flows that improve customer retention, recover abandoned checkouts, and increase store revenue.

Data Synced to Klaviyo

The integration automatically passes the following customer and product profile variables to your Klaviyo account events:

  • Customer Name

  • Product Title

  • Vendor

  • Variant Title

  • Variant Price

  • Variant Quantity

  • Wishlist URL

  • Total Price

  • Product Image

Supported Klaviyo Automation Triggers

Once connected, the app fires behavioral events that you can use to build automated marketing flows in Klaviyo:

  • Wishlist Double Opt-in: A confirmation email allowing anonymous visitors to securely save their wishlist session to their email address.

  • Added to Wishlist: Triggered the exact moment a shopper adds a product or specific variant to any wishlist board.

  • Wishlist Product Reminder: Fired as a nudge when a saved product has been sitting in a wishlist unpurchased for a set period.

  • Low Stock Alert: Automatically sent when a product residing in a shopper's wishlist falls below low-inventory thresholds.

  • Back in Stock: Triggered instantly when an out-of-stock item on a customer's wishlist is replenished.

  • Price Drop Alert: Automatically sent to a shopper when an item's current store price drops below the price it was originally wishlisted at.

Part 1: Generate Your Klaviyo API Keys

To securely bridge the data exchange, you must first collect your credentials from the Klaviyo dashboard:

  1. Log in to your Klaviyo Admin Dashboard.

  2. Click your Organization/Account Name located in the bottom-left corner of the screen.

  3. Select Settings from the pop-up menu.

  4. In the settings navigation menu, click on the API Keys tab.

  5. Copy your alphanumeric Public API Key (also known as your Site ID) found in the top table.

  6. Scroll down to the Private API Keys section and click Create Private API Key.

  7. Name the private key label Advanced Wishlist App Key for easy future identification.

  8. Set the access level profile to Full Access Key (or custom required scopes) and click Create.

  9. Copy the generated Private API Key value immediately and save it in a secure location, as it cannot be viewed again once you leave the page.

Part 2: Connect Advanced Wishlist to Klaviyo

  1. Open your Shopify Admin and navigate to Apps > Hulk Advanced Wishlist.

  2. From the app top menu, click on the Integrations tab.

  3. Locate the Klaviyo Integration card and click Configure.

  4. Input your copied Klaviyo Public API Key and Private API Key into their respective field slots.

  5. Toggle the integration switch status to ON.

  6. Click Save.

Part 3: Verify the Synchronization Data Flow

To ensure the integration is pushing webhook payload information correctly:

  1. Return to your Klaviyo Admin interface.

  2. Navigate to Analytics > Metrics from the left-hand panel.

  3. Look for the newly added custom application metric labeled Advanced Wishlist - Subscribers or relevant activity feeds to audit sample data payloads.

Mandatory Requirements for Event Triggering

To ensure reminder and alert flows successfully fire from Klaviyo to your shoppers, verify that the following conditions are met:

  • App Reminder Toggle Active: The corresponding notification event must be enabled within the Reminders settings area inside the Advanced Wishlist app dashboard.

  • Integration Toggle Active: The Klaviyo integration toggle inside the app must remain switched ON.

  • Subscriber Status: The customer must have an active email subscription profile status to receive marketing communications.

  • Test Criteria Check: For stock or price drops to fire a test notification, the item must be added to a wishlist profile, and the core Shopify inventory or price value must actively cross the threshold rule logic.
